Christina Hendricks To Star In A Book Of Common Prayer Adaptation
Actress Christina Hendricks has signed on to play the protagonist in the upcoming adaptation of Joan Didion’s 1977 novel A Book of Common Prayer, reports Word and Film.
Campbell Scott will direct the Mad Men actress in what is considered a potentially ground breaking role.
In the film Hendricks will play Charlotte Douglas, a wealthy American who travels to a remote and violent corner of South America in search of her daughter, a political dissident who disappears after joining a revolutionary group that hijacks a plane.
Christina Hendricks is already set to star in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut How To Catch a Monster so it will be interesting to see how she does in this role and how well she’s received as a leading lady.
