While Oz: The Great and Powerful is tracking for a possible $80 million weekend, the blockbusters seems to be poised to become a massive hit. But while the tentpole will obviously attract all-ages, it's the indie releases such as Spring Breakers that remains undetermined. Though it has the star power, Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) is returning to only limited screens later this month with the Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling led The Place Beyond the Pines.
Now that we've hit March, today Focus Features is kicking up the marketing just a bit as they've unveiled the latest clip that pits Cooper with the film's leading lady while we get some new glimpses through a television spot set to hit air very soon.
Luke (Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Cooper), their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud. The Place Beyond the Pines is a rich dramatic thriller, tracing the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains.
Co-starring Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, Bruce Greenwood, Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn, Dane DeHaan, Emory Cohen and more, The Place Beyond the Pines hits a limited release on March 29th.
