One of the fastest rising acts in all of dance music is The M Machine. Formed in San Francisco in 2011, the group has continued to push the boundaries of what we know as “EDM”. Their new EP, Metropolis Pt. II, takes the listener on a sonic journey through a sci-fi drama. Their website contains the liner notes from both of their EP’s and they come complete with a two part science fiction novella. The idea of a concept album seemed to have been lost to the EDM community, but in the vain of rock bands like Mastodon and Pink Floyd, The M Machine is bringing that notion back.
In honor of the new EP, the trio has made a mix to establish their identity within the community. Their song selection and mixing skills are on another level. Expect to hear some of your favorites, along with tracks that you have never heard in your life. Much like their EP’s, this mix tells the story of a group who is pushing the limits of the genre.
